This time Ahmedabad and Lucknow have got a place in today’s auction of IPL. Both the cities have their own stadiums and the IPL fan following in the area is also very high.
The Ahmedabad team’s franchise CVC Capital Partners Group has won the auction. CVC Group has bought the Ahmedabad team for Rs 5,166 crore. The BCCI has earned more than Rs 12,000 crore from these two teams, which is more than expected.
A bid of Rs 7,090 crore was made by Sanjeev Goenka Group for Lucknow. He has already bought Rising Pune Giants in the IPL. About Rs 5,166 crore was bid for Ahmedabad. Which was imposed by a foreign company CVC Group.
Several names came up to buy two new IPL teams. RPSG’s Sanjeev Goenka, Manchester United owner Glazer Family, Naveen Jindal, Adani Group, CVC Partner, Group-M, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were among those in the race to buy new names.
